What is Direct Primary Care? Understanding how the DPC model works

What is DPC?

A smarter, more personalized approach to primary care

If you've ever struggled to get a timely visit, left your appointment feeling rushed, or been hit with a surprise bill—you’re not alone. The traditional healthcare system often feels impersonal and frustrating. Direct Primary Care (DPC) offers a different approach.

What is DPC?

Healthcare, back to its roots

  • You're the priority, not the paperwork.

Because we don’t bill insurance, we can focus entirely on you—not coding, billing, or waiting on approvals.

  • Same-day or next-day appointments.

We keep our patient panel small so we can offer same-day or next-day visits when you need them.

  • Direct access to your provider.

Whether it’s a quick question or a follow-up concern, you get real, convenient access to the providers who know your health best.

  • Clear, upfront pricing.

With DPC, you always know what you’re paying—one flat monthly fee, no surprises.

  • No rushed appointments.

We take the time to get to know you, answer your questions, and make sure you feel truly cared for.

Addressing Common Questions

So...what's the catch?

We hear this a lot! The truth is, there’s no catch—just a different way of doing things. Here’s how we address some common concerns:

“Wait, so you don’t take insurance?”

That’s right! Cutting out insurance means we can spend more time with you instead of dealing with paperwork, approvals, and billing codes. You can still use insurance for things like specialists, hospital visits, or major procedures, but your everyday care is covered by your membership.

“What if I have really good insurance already?”

That’s great! Many of our members have insurance but choose DPC for more personalized, convenient care—longer visits, same-day appointments, and direct access to their provider. Some people even find they save money with DPC by avoiding high deductibles and unnecessary urgent care visits.

“What if I hardly ever go to the doctor?”

You don’t have to be sick to benefit from direct primary care. Your membership includes preventive care, check-ins, and urgent care needs.
